MAILING DELAYS DUE TO ROYAL MAIL STRIKE ACTION
Strike action by Royal Mail workers has been called off after the two sides in the dispute reached an eleventh hour agreement last night.
The 24-hour stoppages were scheduled for today (November 6) and Monday, November 9 but were cancelled after a deal was brokered between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union.
The Press Association (PA) reported Dave Ward, the union's deputy general secretary, as saying he looked forward to a period of calm, and that the two sides will have the support of the conciliation service Acas during negotiations over the next few months.
Strikes by Royal Mail workers have escalated since the summer causing major disruption to the delivery of magazines.
